Mercedes Benz Valve Cover
You may think the valve cover of your Mercedes Benz is nothing but a mere cover
but the role it plays is indispensable and vitally important. Its basic purpose
is to prevent the fuel from splashing, leaking or sputtering as the vehicle moves
in action. Leak is a simple problem that can lead to complicated problems especially
if the fuel came in contact with any flammable substance or material. Leakage
in the valve is oftentimes rooted to improper installation. Some drivers fail
to ensure that they set the valve cover in place which can lead to leakage problems.

Regular inspection or check up of your valve cover must be done to see if there
are defects that require repair and replacement. The features of the valve cover
may depend on the specifications of the car. Materials used also vary. Commonly
used by almost any make are valve cover in aluminum and plastic. An aluminum valve
cover can render longer lasting service although you must ensure that baffles
are installed to support the PCV system ports. The baffles are used to prevent
oil leakage on the air filter tray as well as on the other components. It also
facilitates the smooth flow of oil to the components in need of it.
Plastic valve covers on the other hand are light and easy to operate but its
efficiency is oftentimes affected by the amount of torque produced which must
be balanced enough to power the bolts. Vehicles equipped with six cylinders engine
uses two types of covers, one on the left side of the car and the other on top
of the vehicle.
Aside from plastic and aluminum valve covers, other types can also be used as
long as it is matched with the required specs and features of the car. Mercedes
Benz valve cover is one of the excellent choices that you can make especially
if you want optimum performance and quality.
