Saturn Starter
Most probably, among the parts and systems
equipped in your Saturn, it’s your starting system that is always
overlooked. Often, when people talked concerning their cars,
particularly when it is about the vehicle’s power and performance, we
only hear about the powerful engines, competent transmissions, and
stiff suspensions. But like any other parts and systems of your car,
your starting system also plays an important function – to stimulate
the engine to start moving. Therefore, it should not be ignored.

Think about this, if your Saturn doesn’t have its starting system, how
would you be able to run it? The starting system is considered as the
heart of your car’s electrical system. The electrical system is
composed of the battery, the starter or the starter motor and the
alternator. The battery is used to store power for starting and for
running auxiliary devices (clocks, radios and alarms) when the engine
is off. While the starter or the starter motor is used to start the
engine and the alternator is a charging device powered by the engine.
Sounds simple right? But believe it or not, performing the function is
quite complicated. Starting a cold engine requires too much power as it
requires the starter motor to surmount a lot of conflicting forces,
including the piston rings' internal friction, the cylinders'
compression pressure, the energy required to open and close the valves
with the camshaft and the energy needed to start the movement of the
other components attached to the engine, like the water pump, oil pump,
and others.
If at some point, when you turn the key to the start position, and
nothing happens, or all you hear is just a click, or the starter cranks
very slow then your probably have a problems with one of the component
of your Saturn starting system. Perhaps, it’s your Saturn battery of
the Saturn starter motor itself. The best thing to do is to have it
replaced right away. There are countless auto parts stores in the net
to provide your needs.
