GM Speed Sensor
Driving is fun but it can push you out of your limit that is why it is a must
that your car is equipped with a device that can warn you of how fast or slow
you are moving. Speed sensors are responsible for the visual information given
to the driver regarding the car’s speed or wheel movement. The visual information
that the speed sensor gives is usually higher than the actual speed of the car
to ensure that the driver or operator will not go beyond the required speed limit.

There are several kinds of speed sensor that you can mount in your car to give
you the information you need. An example is a tachometer and a speedometer. A
tachometer operates by showing the rotation rate generated by the crankshaft.
It is expressed in rpm units which represents the spark rate of the ignition system.
However its focus is more on the type of gear or throttle settings to be used
in a certain driving condition. Its work capacity is limited which may depend
on the maximum speed capacity of the car. Too much speed can cause damage in its
efficiency and affectivity.
A speedometer unit employs a cylindrical wire or coil to determine if the car’s
speed is below or above the average speed limit. It determines how fast or how
slow the car is through the revolution of the transmission output shaft. The frequency
of the wheel magnet can speed over the sensor as the car gets faster.
Anyone interested to replace their speed sensors with a new component can browse
the net for on line stores that they can trust and transact business with if they
do not want to spend too much time in going from one store to the other just to
get the type of replacement may it be an OEM or an aftermarket that will suit
the specific need of the car.
