Pontiac Sunfire Parts
The Pontiac brand, among other marques under the production of the General Motors,
is the one that is considered to be a mid-level brand that features a more sporting,
performance-driving experience for a reasonable price, adding a youthful feel
as its marketing and advertising strategy. From the different models, one remarkable
model included in the Pontiac automobile fleet is the Pontiac Sunfire. The said
model is a compact car that was introduced by the Pontiac as a 1995 model year
and served as a replacement for the Sunbird. It is a bit smaller than mid-size
cars but larger than a subcompact car.

From being formerly Sunbird, the Pontiac Sunfire has also underwent striking
styling changes such as the update of the J-body platform to address the demand
for a more stringent safety standards. From the General Motors’ updated economical
front wheel drive automobile J-body platform, the Pontiac Sunfire was based, and
not only that, it also adopted Chevy Cavalier’s mechanical components. With the
Sunfire’s single decade of existence in the automotive industry, it has gone a
lot of both minor and significant changes.
Starting with the first year, the Sunfire has a Twin Cam 2.4-liter, 4 cylinder
engine replacing the Quad 4 version. Traction control was offered as a standard
feature for 4-speed automatics, plus daytime running lights. On its second year,
the then optional 4-speed automatic has become a standard option for the convertibles
removing the manual shifts. Intermittent wipers were also offered for the soft
top including a defogger for the rear window glass, and standard cruise control.
For the succeeding years, the Sunfire had minor changes aside from the gaining
updated trims, clever cosmetic modification, body structure revision and additional
safety, comfort and convenient features. There were engine upgrades to enhance
the power to match the evolving interior designs and amenities. Until the year
2005 time when the production of the Sunfire came to rest, leaving the Sunfire
owners the responsibility of handling their units with utmost care and dedication.
For this reason, Pontiac Sunfire parts are made available in the automotive market
to address the need for Sunfire repair and maintenance.
