Mirrors
Under ordinary circumstances,
mirrors are used to reflect what is in front of it – a person’s own image, for instance.
Someone standing in front of a mirror will be able to perceive an image of himself
which the device throws back for him to see.

A mirror installed in any part of a vehicle performs the same duty, except that
they are used to be able to see what usually is behind the vehicle or the driver.
For this reason, the driver would be able to concentrate on looking ahead while
running the vehicle, never needing to turn his head anymore just to be able to
see anything that he is missing. Automotive mirrors come in different styles and
designs not only because they are considered one of the decorative elements in
a vehicle. They are diverse because they do different duties, and how they are
made contributes to how they would best perform the roles they are bound to do.
A side-view mirror is located on both the left and right hand sides of almost
all vehicles. They face backwards, allowing the driver to see traffic on either
side of the vehicle. These mirrors make objects reflected in them closer than
they appear. A rear-view mirror is affixed on top of the windshield on a swivel
mount, making it capable of being rotated. Although some car models have rear-view
mirrors attached to the dashboard, they serve the same purpose – to be able to
let the driver see the area behind the vehicle through the back window.
There are other kinds of mirrors employed by vehicles for different purposes.
They include towing mirrors, power mirrors and automatic dimming rear-view mirrors.
For whatever purpose they are bound to serve, they exist for one reason alone
– to be able to help the driver see what he is not capable of seeing while

busy driving the vehicle. They are gateways to safer and more relaxed driving
because they allow the driver to have the power of seeing everything that should
concern him without moving anything but his eyes.
An automotive mirror is vital in keeping the vehicle and all its occupants safe
from harm’s way. With mirrors, the driver would be able to make out when to turn,
swerve or change lanes, knowing that there is no other vehicle behind him which
he might bump into or overtake. Safety is one of the concerns of this device,
and whatever kind, type or style, these mirrors are an assurance that because
something can be done about the situation, what one knows won’t hurt him at all.
