After long years of existence in the automotive industry with many historical happenings and innumerable production of different brands of automobiles, Geo models have finally emerged to flaunt initially its line of small vehicles into the premises of General Motors. Most Geo models were manufactured with joint ventures from several import auto manufacturers. These import auto manufacturers included Toyota who ventured together with GM to produce Geo Prism. Geo Metro and Geo Tracker, on the other hand, were joint-ventured together with Suzuki manufacturer.

Geo brand was actually formed to contend with the ever-growing economy import market in the automotive industry. After almost a decade of struggling successfully in the circle of automotive scenes, Chevrolet passenger automobile division absorbed Geo nameplate. From Geo’s relatively short duration of its contribution to the automotive history, their lineup of vehicles brought into the industry comprised of: Geo Metro, Geo Spectrum, Geo Tracker, Geo Prizm, Geo Storm.

Geo Metro was released in 1989 with, a subcompact hatchback with body styles that include 2-door convertible, 4-door sedan, 2-door hatchback, and 4-door station wagon. Another release in that year was the subcompact car Geo Spectrum, a badge engineered vehicle. A small SUV under the model name of Geo Tracker was introduced in 1990’s, another badge engineered vehicle. Additional lineup to the badge engineered vehicles of Geo was the Geo Prizm. These cars were sold in body styles of sedan and 5-door hatchback vehicles. A small coupe, conventional hatchback, and optional 2-door station wagon were also released under the name Geo Storm.

Though Geo history was short-lived, these vehicles are great enough to maintain and make it a constant presence into the roads.
