Ford Floor Liner
Ford vehicles are equipped with a comfy (if not luxurious) interior, highlighted
by a carpet that complements with the style of every other interior feature and
component. Naturally, you would want to keep the cleanliness of this interior,
especially the cleanliness of the carpet. But driving your Ford alone is not quite
enjoyable. Sadly, passengers and your Ford’s carpet don’t seem to enjoy each other’s
company well. So what can you do? Create a barrier between them inside your vehicle.
There are actually two kinds of accessories that you may install inside your
Ford to keep its carpet protected. One is the floor mats and the other is the
Ford floor liner. Both accessories are carpet protectors that can be removed easily
for cleaning. Both can also contain spills and protect the carpet from mud, snow,
salt and other carpet hazards. The difference between floor liners and carpet
mats only lies on the extent of protection they offer.

Floor liners are heavy-duty waterproof carpet protectors. These carpet covers
often feature a contoured design specific to the floor pan of your particular
vehicle, although there are also universal-fit floor liners that are not necessarily
custom-molded to the floorboards of any particular vehicle. In general, floor
liners tend to cover more floor area than floor mats, thus offering a wider scope
of protection. And while floor mats are usually thicker and heavier than floor
liners, the watertight materials that floor liners are made of compensates for
this thinness. Further, floor liners would also have a taller outer rim, allowing
them to contain spills better than floor mats.
So if you enjoy your friend’s company while driving your Ford and yet you don’t
want the vehicle’s carpet to be soiled or damaged, then better protect it with
floor mats or a floor liner. If you only need gentle protection for your carpet,
then floor mats should be fine. But if you and your friends are in for an off-road
travel where a lot of dirt and mud may be brought inside the vehicle, a Ford floor
liner would generally do better.
