Volvo Distributor
The ignition system is something that vehicles cannot live without. This is because
this entire system is the one responsible for the timely burning of the fuel mixture
within the engine. Although not all engine types require an ignition system to
be able to run, those which do depend a lot on the scheme of parts that make the
ignition system up. Included in this roster is the spark plug, the spark plug
wire, the rotor, the ignition sensor, the ignition module, the ignition coil and
the distributor.
The distributor is the device responsible for routing the high voltage in the
correct firing order to the spark plugs. It possesses a rotating arm or rotor
which is housed inside its distributor cap. This rotor is the one which contacts
central high voltage cable through a spring loaded carbon brush. This is the reason
why high voltage energy is able to jump from the rotor arm to the contact.
The distributor is also home to a distributor shaft whose cam operates the contact
breaker. Its centrifugal advanced unit causes the breaker points mounting plate
to slightly rotate while advancing the spark timing. There is also a capacitor
that suppresses sparking to prevent deterioration of the points. These operations
are crucial to the spark timing that the engine needs to be able to boost vehicle
performance.
The same mechanisms take place in the Volvo distributor that the Volvo engine
harbors. The only difference is that the operations happening inside the confines
of this contraption run a little bit smoother as compared to others. Because of
this, the ignition system of Volvo vehicles is able to make the perfect spark.
Volvo vehicles are then able to run and operate in a way far better than expected
because their ignition system has great components to show for.
There is nothing better than having in possession a properly functioning vehicle.
With the Volvo distributor, owners of Volvo vehicles are able to revel in having
vehicles that would start up and function whenever and wherever they need to.
