Buick Regal Parts

Most of us won't have any problem describing a car if it has been around for more than three decades already. Well, it's a different case altogether if we are talking about the Buick Regal. While the Regal was manufactured and sold for more than three decades, many would still find it hard to describe the car. This is because the Buick Regal has had a diverse career. For the vehicle's entire three-decade run, it came in different styles and specifications—first as a mid-size luxury car, then a downsized performance car, and later as a successful international car. No wonder, it's hard to find a single description that would best describe the Buick Regal.

The Regal nameplate was first used in 1973, applied to an upscale and luxury version of the mid-size Buick Century. By 1975, the Buick Regal became an independent model, although its body and majority of its parts were still shared with the Buick Century. This body and parts sharing would actually go on until both vehicles' demise, with the Buick Century serving as the entry-level version and the Buick Regal as the upscale luxury version.

The Buick Regal was introduced as a mid-size luxury car. In 1978, however, a major revision on the car made it smaller and more performance oriented. In fact, the Buick Regal was considered a performance car until the 1987 model year, with some versions of the car fielded in major racing activities. In 1988, the vehicle model was again given a major redesign, making it a front-wheel drive car in the GM W platform. With some minor redesigns, the W-body Buick Regal lasted until 2004, after which the vehicle was dropped from the line-up together with the Buick Century.

For a little more than three decades, the Buick Regal had been the mid-size luxury car in Buick's vehicle line-up. All the while, however, the Buick Regal also served as the mid-size Buick performance car. Equipped with powerful engines, capable transmissions, and a lot of other high quality and high performance Buick Regal parts, the Buick Regal showcased a powerful performance similar to higher priced cars in its class. This amazing performance as a luxury performance vehicle is aside from its performance as an international car, which was equally commendable.
