The Dodge AC compressor is the heart of your Dodge vehicle’s air conditioning system. it is a type of pump that is driven by a belt, which is often called the AC compressor pulley, attached to the Dodge engine. The main function of the AC compressor is to pump the auto air conditioning system’s refrigerant throughout the other parts of the AC system in a closed loop. It takes in low-pressure refrigerant gas from the AC system’s low pressure side which is composed of the evaporator and the accumulator or receiver/drier. This refrigerant is then compressed and converted into high pressure and high temperature gas. Once this is compressed, the hot refrigerant is discharged in the AC condenser, and from the condenser where the refrigerant is cooled, it is delivered back to the evaporator to form a closed loop.

 

Just like the other AC system’s components, the AC compressor is also likely to get damaged after a period of time.
